Biography

Born Marquis Reed on January 7, 1984 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. the rapper known as Ariginal began to become interested in music at the tender age of 11. As he moved back and forward from Ft. Lauderdale to Jacksonville his love for music only got stronger. At the age of 12 he was a member of a group by the name of “Lil Gits” in 1997, which eventually split up due 2 lack of group communication. At that time Ariginal began to wonder if a group would be the right choice for him. As he developed as a solo artist he moved back to Fort Lauderdale where in 1999 he joined another group by the name of “Shot Callers”.

The group recorded numerous amounts of mixtapes to create a buzz in their hometown, which was unsuccessful due to lack of promotion. The year 2001 arrived and the group decided to go their separate ways and pursue their careers solo. Ariginal didn’t stop trying to reach his goal, as a solo artist he felt he could do better. Yet he again joined another group which consisted of some of his high school classmates and they all formed a group called “U.N.A.”As he recorded 3 songs on a daily basis he began to get better at his musical skills and closer to his dreams. Being a standout artist quickly got him the street credibility that he needed. ” I gotta be the best at what I do u gotta feel like no one else can do what u do, that’s the key to being one of the greatest”, says Ariginal.

In the year 2002 due to certain conflicts the group U.N.A. called it quits and chased their dreams individually. The following year which was 2003, Ariginal started looking for a new studio to call home. As he went to different studio’s to record there was only one company that would welcome him into their organization, a label by the name of “Realionaire Entertainment”. There he had unlimited studio time and also unlimited tracks to choose from which made him feel like he was finally where he needed to be. He recorded at least five songs a day making him 1 of the hardest working artist on the label. Being that he had a lot of legal issues; Ariginal was in and out of jail during his period of being with the company which interfered with his music. As he put his legal troubles behind him he dropped his first solo album by the name of “fishscale” which created a buzz in his hometown and got the attention of the local promoters. He began doing shows at all of the local night clubs and started making a name for himself.

He has opened up shows for every artist except for Tupac, Biggie, Nas and Jay z. His departure from Realionare didn’t stop him from making music he kept his faith and kept going. By this time his cousin by the name of “DJ Showtime” began to DJ on an underground station by the name of 89.5. Ariginal began to get major airplay on all the underground radio stations and took over his whole city by himself. As he started to get lyrical with his words and possessed a wordplay that has never been heard by any artist from where he is from, people began to wonder how he distinguished himself from the rest.

“I’m influenced by real artist like the late greats and just because I’m from the bottom of the map people expect me to do booty shaking music, nah i get lyrical too,” says Ariginal.

As years past Ariginal began to travel and do everything on his own. He started a label called “Gunn Club Entertainment” which consists of him as the CEO and his longtime friend Parkway Pete as the co ceo. Destined to be on top of the rap game and full of hunger, Ariginal plans to be one of the few that goes down in history for his talent.” Tomorrow not promised and u don’t live twice and with that advice i live life,” says Ariginal. With that in mind u can’t go wrong in life, as years begin to roll over into the next I’m pretty sure Ariginal is one of the few that will be around for a long time.
